Blue riband (the old fashioned name for ribbon) made as part of the 1875 celebrations. Belongs to Andrew Stoves. Blue ribbons and sashes were worn on the opening day of 27th September 1825 Sweet tin with a lid featuring a simplified image of Dobbin’s painting of the Opening of the S&DR. 2020 version of the 1925 commemorative sweet tin. A plate produced for the 1975 celebrations which claims to show Locomotion No.1. It clearly is not Locomotion No.1 Mug showing Timothy Hackworth with his birth and death dates and the caption “Inventor of the Steam blast pipe. The mug also shows the Shildon coat of arms and the centenary dates. This page from an 1875 edition of the Illustrated London News was part of a commemorative edition celebrating 50 years since the opening of the S&DR.
