Welly (or sturdy boot) owning people with a can-do attitude are invited to join in a clean-up of the Gaunless Bridge abutment area at West Auckland/St. Helen Auckland on Tuesday 15th March for about 2 hours.
You will be supervised by representatives of Historic England and the Wear Tees River Trust. Meet at the former Stationmaster’s house (NZ 18511 26590 or DL14 9ET) at 10am. There is some parking there but it might be easier if you park on Leazes Lane and walk down to the house – the track is parallel to the right of way that leads to the abutments).
