Lockdown Lecture: The Stockton & Darlington Railway – the railway that got the world on track.
October 23 @ 8:00 am - November 1 @ 5:00 pmFree
A 25-minute talk by Caroline Hardie of the Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway on why the S&DR was the railway that got the world on track. What was it that made the S&DR different to the railways that went before and why did it lead to the creation of a worldwide transport network of railways?
