Lockdown Lectures: What Survives of the 1825 Stockton & Darlington Railway?

October 27, 2020 @ 8:00 am - November 1, 2020 @ 5:00 pm

Free

The S&DR opened on the 27th September 1825 and its mainline ran for 26 miles between Witton Park in SW Durham, Darlington and Stockton. This talk with slides by Caroline Hardie of the Friends of the S&DR lasts just under 40 minutes, so get your packed lunch box and flask at the ready or grab something from the buffet and take a gentle trip from Witton Park Colliery to Stockton to see what’s left of the 1825 Stockton & Darlington Railway mainline.
