This amusing book was written by G.F Fiennes who was the Chairman and General Manager for Eastern Region of British Railways. It is a humorous look at the people who tried to run the railways including Fiennes himself who decided to accept the first job offered to him, which turned out to be with LNER. Years later he was running the network with a turnover of £130 million p.a.
