Raising funds towards the cost of building a replica
The Royal George
The Royal George project aims to raise the necessary funds to build a replica Royal George locomotive in time for 2027 (1827, designed by Timothy Hackworth). A feasibility study has been prepared and we will need in excess of £1 million. To help consider whether this is possible, we have commissioned a professional fund raiser to help us with this enormous task.

In the meantime, we have started a growing collection of gifts designed to raise funds to go towards the building of a replica Royal George and to raise awareness of the importance of the Stockton & Darlington Railway and its contribution towards developing national and international rail travel. All of the profits from this collection go towards this fund.
